Vik
Vik in the South of Iceland is famous for its black basalt cliffs and sea stacks, even featuring in the later episodes of Game of Thrones. Though predominately known for being a ‘black’ beach there were literally hundreds of tones and textures ranging from purple, through grey to solid black. Here I have taken a sample of the fractured rocks and added a solid tone inspired by the Scandinavian design I encountered whilst visiting.
